We celebrated Kenzie’s achievement through a headshot and branding session that captures her professionalism and warm and inviting personality. Cozied up in a gorgeous blue sweater to match her dazzling eyes, we utilized that classic therapy-vibe tufted sofa and took some fun relaxed shots of just Kenzie being Kenzie. That’s what I loved so much about this session.

I never had a “sweet sixteen” party growing up; it just wasn’t a thing we did! So getting the opportunity to capture this special event for Zoe was a treat for me!
Zoe is the kind of teenager you hope your own daughter will be like one day - kind, mature, and respectable. She’s in varsity theatre and student council, and spends her free time doing photography (yes girl!), reading, goofing off with her friends, and going to concerts. My favorite thing about Zoe is her goals and dreams: to be an education major in college so she can eventually travel to countries where she can teach girls who aren’t granted the same education opportunities we have here. I. LOVE. THAT. (Her favorite book is I am Malala, which is on my personal “to-read” list now. She thinks you should check it out!)
When I asked Zoe what keeps her going in the hard days of high school (and goodness, there are many), she responded with, “My family, friends, and Jesus. I always want to make my friends and family proud and they do a great job of being supportive and understanding. Furthermore, I try to remember that God has a bigger plan for me and that the hardships are just a stepping stone in the journey to who and where I want to be.” Now how’s THAT for some sixteen-year-old perspective!
And now, for the party details!
Zoe’s mom, Wendy, truly wanted this party to be perfect for her daughter. The weather decided to be a little “extra” that day and put on an intense show of lightning, thunder, and crazy wind and rain, but even that didn’t keep mom, dad, and the grandparents from hosting a party that encompassed everything a sixteen-year-old girl could ask for: best friends, flower crowns, pizza, and….A SUBARU!!!! (Yes, I’m slightly jealous.) Here are a few images from this beautiful party!
